I'll never understand the Buckner hate, the game was already tied when that played happened. What about all the shit that happened to lead up to the play, that's what cost them the World Series.

Sad on top of sad.

This is a guy who could never get over that error.

69??? Way too young.

Hope you find your peace, Bill Buckner. Some of us forgave you many years ago.

I always thought he accepted the error years ago and stupid Boston fans were the ones who couldn’t let it go?

Yea, you're exactly right. Bob Stanley threw a wild pitch when Mookie Wilson was at bat to tie the game. If I was a Boston fan, I would be even more pissed off at Stanley then at Buckner.

Lewy body dementia. Same thing as Casey Kasem had.

I'm familiar with the play, but not this COD, so many ways one can die

69 not really that young, average for a US male probably close to 75 or so

It's not like he died at 49 or 53 or something

He got to play MLB, famous for an error, I believe he was playing injured as well

RIP, WB

My sister died last September of dementia.
She was two weeks past her 57th birthday.
She thought people were trying to kill her, she had to be admitted to an institution and became violent.
You couldn't have a conversation with her.
It was kind of a relief when she passed.
At least she is at peace.
If Bill was like this, he is better off.
I know this sounds morbid, but that is how it is.

Buckner never once struck out more than twice in one game

Only 451 Ks in over 10,000 PAs

Brings to mind Joe Dimaggio having more career HR than career strikeouts

He has more career hits than every single active player except Pujos and Cabrera and also more career hits than Ted Williams.

Another dead from spirochetes in the brain probably caused by a tick born illness. He was outdoorsman. Robin Williams had the same thing. Fucking CDC won't do shit about it.
